With over 15 years of experience in economic and workforce development, Michelle McDonald is a dedicated leader committed to business growth, job creation, and community impact. As Deputy Director of Dorchester County Economic Development, she has led initiatives that enhance job placement, workforce training, and business retention. Notably, she increased grant funding for the Tri-County STEMersion Institute from $14,500 to $121,000 in one year, resulting in the program’s largest class ever.
Michelle has a proven track record of building strong industry partnerships. Previously, as a Business Development Specialist with South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation, she worked with over 125 businesses to develop talent pipelines and workforce solutions, earning the highest direct placement rating in the state for Program Year 2019. Earlier, she served as a WIA Workforce Specialist with the BCD Council of Governments, helping job seekers secure competitive positions in high-demand industries.
